Founder

Heidi Holtz has worked in the nonprofit and philanthropy fields for 38 years and therefore has an expansive network. Her knowledge spans an array of subjects, with specific expertise in organizational and board advancement, outreach and engagement, leadership training and making strategic connections. She has been both a grantseeker and a grantmaker so will provide guidance to both not-for-profits and businesses on how to maximize impact. Heidi is a trained facilitator who utilizes a variety of styles, including Design Thinking, Appreciative Inquiry, Creative Problem Solving and Dialogue Circles. 


Between 2005 and 2018, Heidi Holtz was part of the senior staff at the Rosamond Gifford Foundation, overseeing grantmaking and later research and special projects.  During her tenure she developed several notable initiatives surrounding capacity building, audience/community engagement, a popular leadership award and a nonprofit storytelling program. Several of these initiatives were multi-funder collaborations of a million dollars or more. Prior to Gifford she worked for 25 years in the nonprofit world, primarily in arts management.  


At Syracuse University, Heidi taught fund development for the Maxwell School and co-designed/taught a board training class for the School of Arts and Sciences. She is a regular guest lecturer at area colleges. Heidi has presented virtually and in person at local, regional and national conferences on such topics as fund development, capacity building, collaborative grantmaking and community engagement. 

Services

While a broad-based selection of services are available to move you and your organization forward, we focus on three primary areas:

  • Not-for-profit capacity, especially board development, community engagement and strategic storytelling; 
  • Supporting for-profit businesses in defining, refining and/or assessing giving policies and procedures (sponsorships, grants, in kind and volunteers);
  • Professional coaching, with special emphasis on emerging leaders within staff and board.
